Ivory Edition

Na l5r.com se dnes objevila dalsi cast design diares. Chysta se spousta zmen. Vetsina z nich velmi zajimavych. Verim, ze se tim vyrazne snizi entry level pro nove hrace a ze hra se v nekolika ohledech zesmysluplni a zesnadni. Na druhou stranu to muze odrovnat nestandartni formaty. A nezbyva nez doufat, ze z MtG-like lopaty nakonec bravurne seskoci.

Copak se bude schovavat uvnitr?
Hlavne at pusti trochu barvy o tom, co je uvnitr. Hype by se jim ted mohl krute nevyplatit.

A nechci videt ceny IvE singlu v lednu.

Posvitme si na osviceni.
Speaking of Enlightenment, you may have noticed that this Ring you start with does not, by Emperor Edition rules, count towards Enlightenment. The decision was made to change the way Enlightenment looks for Rings. We felt it was simpler when explaining the rules to a player that they win if they have all five Rings in play, no ifs, ands, or buts. It certainly makes the Remote Monastery of the Dragon more accessible to a new player if we don’t have to jam “This Ring counts towards Enlightenment” on it. Rather, the rare cards that “cheats” a Ring into play will have text noting that Ring does not count. Much simpler this way.

Tohle zni taky celkem zajimave.
So before we go into Shikei, I want to talk a moment about Kensai, and specifically Weapons. You may notice two changes to Weapons; how many hands they take to wield, and what type of weapon they are. The latter of these two, the weapon category, is something we are building for the future. It will allow us to showcase weapon specializations. We can create Iron Cranes who get bonuses for having Polearms and Spears, Ninja who gets bonuses for having Ninja Weapons, and Mantis who get bonuses for wielding Peasant Weapons, etc.

The first change though, a weapon’s handedness, is tackling two things. First, it brings a bit more realism to the game. No longer will Kensai be dual-wielding Daikyu. Second, it tackles the issue of Kensai getting to obscene levels of Force. One of the great things about Ivory Edition is the inclusion of Fear. It means that two of most prominent battle actions, bow and kill, are now usually tied to Force. This is fantastic for the game, as it makes large Personalities extremely relevant. In the case of Kensai though, it can be problematic at times, as your units can quickly move out of range of anything your opponent can do to them. A 3F Kensai is fine, but give him a couple +3F or +4F weapons, and he becomes a nightmare. So with this change to weapons and their handedness, we have more control over the situation, giving the bigger Force Modifiers to the two-handed weapons, as makes sense. This allows Kensai to get large, but not so large that they become an uncontrollable problem.

Prozatim to vypada, ze IvE se fakt vydarilo.

Na druhou stranu se nam kupi protichudne informace a design diaries a previews a Q&A trochu ztraceji smysl. Nejak si nevybavuju, zeby ve videu o keywordech zminovali kensaie. Takze by se nemelo nic menit. A ejhle tu mame x-handed weapon. Svym zpusobem je to pochopitelne a mechanicky to otevira dalsi moznosti. Ovsem populisticke ovivani se realismem? Doufam, ze u oni se nebudeme dohadovat kolik rukou dany demon na obrazku vlastne ma. A pokud katana skonci two-handed, tak si to Musashi prijde osobne vyridit.
Na EC tvrdili, ze kruhy neprojdou vetsima zmenama a spis jen kosmeticky upravi par veci. Dopadlo to trochu jinak, ze....

Kluci maji fajne napady, ale misty se snazi je lacino prodat a co par kroku skobrtnou.

EDIT: (Jak uz podotkl nekdo na AEG foru: Mame cekat i redukci kouzel u knezi? Nebo kolik vrstev obleceni si muzeme strcit pod brneni? Amozna limit attachmentu na postavu?)

No, ukloneni shugenji a zaplaceni osmi zlatych neni zase tak moc drahe. Blbe se tim budou likvidovat personality s vyssim Chi, ale to neni neprekonatelny problem. Spis je dost brutalni, ze to muzu udelat jako limited akci - tedy ve chvili, kdy to souper moc neceka.

Jestli to chapu spravne,
tak ctyri strongholdy na klan byly pro novacky matouci a vyresi se to tim, ze bude jeden dvoustranny stronghold a k nemu sensei (zatim jeden - bude vic), ktery (alespon teda v pripade krabu) ten stronghold prepise.

Jak to bylo? Nevis nic, Jone Snehu?

Porad mi nejak unika v cem je ten prinos, nebo odlisnost oproti vicero strongholdum, senseiu. Kdyz jsem nekdy kolem poloviny CE zacinal, tak byvali ci otrelejsi hraci si pochvalovali zjednoduseni prave diky likvidaci senseiu a vetru.
Moje vec. Snad se s tim nejak poperu.

Mame druheho senseie. A opet je to ranged. A teda doufam, ze ti dalsi nebudou Ikoma, Shinjo, fire monci a fire shuggies.

Vybavuje se mi video s Bryanem, kde resili vsechny ty powerupy a powerdowny. Prirovnaval prechod na EE k zavodum ve zbrojeni. Silnejsi ranged (pozdeji pak i melee) si zada silnejsi postavy si zadaji silnejsi ranged si zada..... A pak jeste mrte levnych followeru. A karty co likviduji levne karty.... Tohle vsechno pojmenoval jako chybu.
Vyresi se to tim, ze postavy budou slabsi. OK. Net problema. Nektere sice zajimave zlevni, jine se zdaji byt nejake drahe a dalsi beze zmen.... ale budiz. Vzdycky budou hratelne a nehratelne zalezitosti.
Ranged (a melee, a fear) je na oko taky slabsi. Fakt jen na oko. Sice jsou to same 2 a 3, a najdou se i 0 a 1, ale jdou pekne naboostit. V EE byl leda tak Sniping, Precision nebo Archery Range (kudlanky jeste umely Koshin Keep, a vsichni pak vsechny ty veci co strili proti chi, gold costu nebo zakladu sily). Teda ne uplne "leda tak". Slo sundat desitkoveho kensaie - schvalne zminuju kensaie protoze ti ted slouzi jako uberjednotkovy strasak. Samozrejme kensai mel sanci na nejakou obranu pres negaci (pokud prisla karta). Proti sanci se strilecim kombem, sance na negaci.
(Opomijim vsechny ty, imho pouzitelnejsi karty, ktere proste znici ci vrati na ruku attachment.)
Ovsem ted muze strilet cela jednotka (tedy pokud alespon cast veci z videi zustane pravdou). Takze ranged se teoreticky muze nafouknout do nekonecna. A misto "leda tak" komba trikrat za hru, muze jednotka strilet alespon jednou za kolo. A kensai ted po zmenach da par -F nebo si mozna pribere kartu a bude doufat, ze mu prijde nejaka negace. (A umre.) Na kterou i tak kvuli jinym meta v baliku nema vzdy misto.
A zas budeme potrebovat levne followry. Kde je zmena?

Chapu, ze je muj pohled asi zastinen tim, ze hrajeme s vetsim cardpoolem. A jeste nejsou venku vsechny ty skvele nove karty (hlavne at to nejsou jen rera).
A ve vysledku mi ani tak nevadi zmeny, ale zpusob, jakym je nam DT chce prodat. Doufam, ze AEG nepujdou do politiky. Blabolit uz umi slusne.

Combining: Ranged Attacks, Melee Attacks, and Fear effects from actions on other cards in a unit can be combined with other effects of the same type from actions on cards in the same unit. The combining actions are taken as Interrupts, all their costs and other effects are observed, but the combining effect instead increases the strength of the original effect by its own strength. The resulting combined effect can only target a card all of the effects involved could target. It otherwise has all the characteristics of the original effect.

Prepdokladam, ze to pujde nabourat nejakym vhodnym interruptem s uklanenim apod.

Jj. Fenixove se senseiem vypadaji hodne dobre. Docela lepsi nez Tetsuo. A pro nej mam docela slabost. Holt u pavouku a jerabu maji designeri co dohanet.

Skauti flavor jerabu mam docela rad, nicmene mi unika proc zrovna tohle na pocatek. Military je opravdu asi "nejsnazsi" strategie, ale prednosti jerabu jsou pro mne trochu jinde.
Zatim kazdopadne vsichni senseiove podporuji military. Uvidime, co draci v pondeli.
